Novara, Italy, September 23, 2015. Six players from Igor Gorgonzola Novara look forward to start the competition at the 2015 European Championships.
While the club welcomes back Sara Bonifacio, who joins the team after leading the Italian national team to the sixth place at the under 23 World Championships and to the bronze medal at the under 20 World Championships, six girls from the senior squad of Igor Gorgonzola Novara are looking forward to the 2015 European Championships start, on Saturday. Four players (the captain Martina Guiggi, the spiker Caterina Bosetti, the libero Stefania Sansonna and the middle-blocker Cristina Chirichella) will join the competition with the Italian national team; the spiker Tijana Malesevic (Serbia), the opposite Samanta Fabris (Croatia) and the coach Luciano Pedullà (Deutschland) will play the continental tournament as well.
“We are really proud of our coach Luciano Pedullà and ofur girls who will play the European Championships – says Enrico Marchioni, Igor Gorgonzola Novara’s General Manager – and we look forward to the start of the competition. Of course we hope that everyone of them will get the best out of this experience and hopefully some of them can also win a medal. I am sure it will be also an important chance for them to improve”.
After winning the first four friendly matches of the season, Igor Volley is ready for another important test match. On Sunday (5.30 pm) the Igor girls will match Bolzano (a team who joined in summer the first Italian national league) for the Canavese Trophy. As still seven players are missing (also Aurea Cruz will come to Novara just after playing the Norceca Championships), for the game the team will be composed by a mix between players from the senior squad and junior players.
